Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (NIV)
During my granddaughter Roneish's visit to Canada from the United Kingdom, she went on a solo exploration — a sightseeing tour of Toronto, Ontario. She took herself up the CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the western hemisphere, as certified by the Guinness World Records, standing 1,815 feet or 553.3 meters high. After it was constructed in 1976, it was recognized as the tallest tower in the world until 2007. The EdgeWalk is the world's highest full-circle, hands-free walk, where visitors are tethered to a rail above them and walk outside around the edge on a metal floor 116 stories above the ground. There must be a sense of awesomeness when a person feels like they are standing on top of the world! Roneish wanted to do it!
She listened to the instructions of her guides and followed them. She is a Christian. When she gave her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ, she knew Whom she trusted and in Whom she believed. As she was about to take her first step outside onto the platform, she prayed, and stepped out in faith and trust. And again, while standing high above the city, with hands clasped and tucked under her chin, she thanked God for the courage to stand up there. Roneish's name is now added to the list of the many fearless and courageous people to step out so boldly.
We need courage to face serious illnesses, financial issues, and family conflicts. When we turn over these situations to God the Father and ask our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus to pray for us, we can courageously face our fears and difficulties as one. Together, we become courageous warriors during difficult times. Jesus said, "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." (Matthew 18:19 NIV)
Psalm 31:24 – Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord. (NRSV)
How do you handle your fears? Do you have courage?
Prayer: Our heavenly Father, we thank You for being our mighty King and our God, and we thank You for sending us Your only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who showed us the meaning of courage on the cross. It is in His name that we pray. Amen!

What an experience! The more we exercise our faith the more we will be likely to ‘call on the Lord’ at the time when we most need Him.
Without practice (i.e. reading His Word daily and praying daily), our immediate reaction to situations where only HE can help, might not be to call on Him in faith. Your granddaughter is making faith her lifestyle – how wonderful. Thank you for her story.

I am sure you enjoyed the visit from your brave granddaughter, Roneish. It is so important that we remember the courage, peace, comfort, and love that our faith offers us every single day. Jesus was courageous and offers us hope and salvation by his act of dying on the cross.
I take the CN Tower for granted because it has been here for so long. It is nice to have a reminder of how awesome it is. I haven’t been there for many years and have enjoyed eating there as it revolves around to enjoy all the different parts of the city as it turns. My grandchildren enjoyed when we went there for their birthday to have lunch there and my granddaughter has gone with her dad to have dinner. Good memories. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Faith with Courage. Blessings.

I would like to thank you for the devotional you wrote that was published yesterday. Friday was the day of the memorial service for my longtime closest friend. I was apprehensive and overly concerned with my role in the proceedings and my inability to remain calm and in control of my emotions. After reading your devotional and the bible verses and praying I found peace and comfort and because of that I was able to be in complete control and was able to deliver my eulogy without any problems. Without your words I would not have achieved my goal.
So I thank you for everything your guidance provided for my future.
