Listen while you read: "Come Let Us Sing Of A Wonderful Love"1
(Lyrics) |
Genesis 1:1 – In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (NIV)
Genesis 1:31a – God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. (NIV)
When we retired and moved to our present home in Sauble Beach, Ontario, Canada, I became very interested in photography and took plenty of pictures of the beautiful sunsets in this area, many of which are now framed and hanging in our entryway. Over time, we got busy with other things, and the photography took a back seat.
I recently joined a photography group online, and my passion has been renewed. As I sit inside looking out today at the snow gently falling, I see a winter wonderland! Each snowflake is unique — no two are the same. When I gaze in wonder at a fresh snowfall with the snow gently resting on the trees, there is the glory of God. It's magical. It's gorgeous. It takes my breath away. It's a constant reminder to me that God is good and that His creation is amazing!
It reminds me of the song Creation Calls by Brian Doerksen.
- How could I say there is no God
When all around creation calls
A singing bird, a mighty tree
The vast expanse of open sea
Gazing at a bird in flight
Soaring through the air
Lying down beneath the stars
I feel Your presence there
I am in awe of the beauty and splendour of God's creation! There are signs everywhere in creation that there is a God. All of creation proclaims God's glory, and every season has its own beauty.
When we look up into the night sky and gaze at the millions of stars, there is the glory of God.
Psalm 19:1-2 – The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. (NLT)
When we watch the sun set or rise, there is the glory of God.
When we see signs of new life in our gardens in the spring and marvel as the grass turns green and the trees grow leaves again, there is the glory of God.
When we hear the birds singing and observe the beauty of each and every one, there is the glory of God.
There are a lot of trees on our property. When we see the brilliant colours of fall, there is the glory of God.
I love every season. All of creation reveals the glory of God!
Romans 1:20 – For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (NIV)
How could we say that there is no God?
Prayer: God, we thank You for creating such a beautiful world for us to enjoy. All of Your creation is amazing. May we have eyes to see the wonder and majesty of all that You have created. May we take the time to enjoy Your creation every day. May everyone see Your glory as they look at Your creation, and may they know, without a doubt, that there is a God. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Hope you are keeping well.
Dee:
I just finished reading your Presbyterian devotion. I am always amazed how you relate everyday occurrences with Bible passages.
Thank you for reminding us of God’s presence, shown by his creation – through all seasons.
Hello Dee,
You are so right that we have such a stunning creation to enjoy. God was so very thoughtful in each and every detail of His creation. What joy we have in seeing these things and owe Him great praise and gratitude.
Blessings for this beautiful writing.
Dee
I really enjoyed the devotional today. Sunrise and Sunset are really goods creation as no painting can match it.
Also, the birth of animals is a miracle as I used to see it when we had Lambs and Calves being born on the farm.
Thanks for sharing and God Bless you.
Beautifully said! I, too, marvel at God’s seasonal creativity in every snowflake being unique, in spring’s transformation from lifeless drab to living colour, in the countless different shades of green in the summer, and in autumn’s myriad pallet of reds and yellows. I remember my first flight in a small commuter aircraft flying amid the backlit, shimmering clouds and thinking ‘what an AWESOME God we have!’
Good morning, Dee,
A great reminder of God’s gift to us and all the beauty and wonder that it beholds, and we can enjoy. I was admiring the frost patterns on the window yesterday in my upstairs windows.
A lovely hymn was chosen to go with your beautiful devotional to start our week off in a positive way. Thank you for sharing the beauty you see and great fun with your photography. Blessings.

Thank you, Dee, for the beautiful description of nature around your property in Sauble Beach. I can picture it in my mind.
I moved a few years ago from our rural property to a city. I greatly miss so many beautiful scenes from our previous home. Your devotional today reminded me, and I envisioned the surroundings again, of how God’s creation is so magnificent!
I didn’t know of the song: “All Creation Calls.” So touching, and peaceful.
I always enjoy reading your devotionals. Thank you!
Hello, Dee. Thank you for your thoughts and words sharing the beautiful creations of GOD. Every year at this time, huge flocks of your great snowbirds fly in for us to enjoy. We are isolated as a small city, making a great spot for the birds. We have 3-4 small parks that host smaller flocks that go each morning, one just 2 blocks of us. I love watching them and the way they live. A local writer just this past week, wrote some of the ways and things they do, one being that they are known to travel up to as much as 600 miles a day. They are such story makers, and I thank GOD for the beauty and sense of humor. Thank you for sharing and God bless you richly.

Good morning and thank you Dee for reminding me of all of God’s Beauty all around us, we take so much for granted going about our day!!
You are so right! How can anyone say there is no God? He shows himself to us daily!
Thank you for your beautiful writing today!
I am enjoying it all the way in Holland, Netherlands, the beauty here is all around and so grateful! We walked everyday all summer in this park and it’s like the cows remembered me and they posed for me see the beautiful, lush green and the sweet cows.
Keep up the good work,
Look forward to your next devotional!
Thank you, Dee, for this wonderful devotion.
Yes, we must remember to enjoy God’s glory, and stop fretting about our little bothers.
Thanks very much, and blessing to you always,

Good morning, Dee.
As I read your devotion today, Monday, there is a blizzard in Toronto – a rare thing. Looking out the window before Dawn I thought about the things you wrote about today – the beauty and the awesomeness of our amazing God of creation.
I was also taken back to my childhood on the East Coast, wow did we have snow in those days. And again as I raised my children in northern Ontario it seems the snow was never ending!
Being retired I have the luxury of staying home and enjoying snowstorms, rainstorms, thunder and lightning, sunsets, all from my window!
There is so much to give thanks for!
Blessings…
Enjoying the day.
A wonderful message.
