(Lyrics) |
Proverbs 3:27 – Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act. (NIV)
Proverbs 31:31 – Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. (NIV)
My surroundings needed a little tender loving care to make them more functional. My plan was to switch the use of one room to another purpose. I asked God to lead the way in the things that I had planned to do, and I followed His directions during the planning stages. I had to work with several individuals to complete the work that I needed done, and when it was finished, I obtained the results that I was looking for. They all did an excellent job, and everything fell into place — mission accomplished!
I was then asked to complete an online survey on their behalf so that their bosses and upper management would be aware of their performance. How could I not? When I filled out each survey, my comments were honest and sincere, and my reviews were positive and true.
When credit is due to others, they deserve to receive it. For the people around us who work hard, it is important to reward them with the highest praise appropriate for their work. During my long-term career, I, too, looked forward to sitting down at year-end with my immediate supervisors to discuss my performance during the year and to receive credit by way of a nice bonus.
Ephesians 6:9 – And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him. (NIV)
2 Corinthians 8:7 – But just as you excel in everything — in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love to us — see that you also excel in this grace of giving. (NIV)
It is good to be charitable, kind, and generous to the people in the service industry. For the services that they provide us, they deserve to be recognized.
How many people have made a difference in your life recently? Have you told them how grateful you are for their help in making your plans a success?
Prayer: Our Father in heaven, the Maker of heaven and earth, we thank You for the opportunity to share with others what You have given to us so freely. Lord, help us not to withhold our gratitude for jobs that are well done, and gladly to take the time to make a difference in someone else's life, even when we are not asked to do so. It is in Jesus' name that we pray. Amen!

Amen Yvonne.
Great message for today.
A good reminder, Yvonne.
Hi Yvonne,
Excellent reminder of a service to others we so easily overlook.
God bless.
Thanks Yvonne,
You make a good point. A favorable comment can brighten anyone’s day. I believe it’s an easy, free way to encourage another of God’s children. It saddens me that we don’t do more of it; that it seems difficult or unnatural.
Thank you, Yvonne, for the positive and encouraging words in your devotional today. Yes, it is so important that we give credit and encouragement to those we see doing good deeds. Some people take on very agonizing workloads and are so deserving of our praise and gratitude. Blessings for your special writings.
Good morning,
Thank you and this is so true, unfortunately does not happen as much as it should, at least here it seems. I love the look on faces when they receive a praise or a well done high five!!
God bless.
Thank you, Yvonne, for today’s devotion.
I feel moved that you speak today of the service people.
I worked in service for over 28 years, and most of those years, I was looked down upon.
Thanks so much for seeing us, who serve and try to make everyone’s life better.
I don’t want to be recognized, and I want to serve to be one of Jesus’ followers and serve God to make his Kingdom a better place.
Blessings,
(Québec)
Hi Yvonne,
Thanks for the devotional this morning.
I am going through Chemo treatment now and experiencing what you said this morning every time and by every person looking after me and other patients. We know it’s their job, but they do it with God’s care.
I just told my wife this morning we must send a card to their boss thanking them as soon it’s hopefully my last treatment. My privilege is to thank them in person every time I am in for treatment.
Have a lovely day.
Yvonne, I love the way you look to God for guidance, even in redecorating. Thank you for encouraging us to encourage others.
When I receive good service from someone I ask for the name of their supervisor, a business card, or telephone number. The person in question often looks shocked by my request because the sad truth is most folks comment when they have a complaint, not praise.
When I explain I want to let their supervisor know how well they performed, I’m usually rewarded with a smile.
Blessings.
Recent medical problems have sent me to doctors, hospitals. Thanks to their wonderful care, I move forward with optimism and gratitude.
Dear Yvonne,
Thank you so much for today’s devotional. I could not agree more – 1 Timothy 5:18 tells us “the labourer is worthy of his reward.” KJV.
Each one of us needs encouragement and when prompted by the Holy Spirit we should let those people who have ministered to us and who have done a good job using their God given abilities know they are valued.
God bless you, my friend.
