I can still remember that wonderful morning 44 years ago when Jesus Christ saved me. What a glorious day that was!

I immediately fell in love with Jesus, and the journey of His conforming me to His image began.

Today, some of us may remember many of the details of our personal salvation experience, while some of us may not yet have had that experience. However, for those of us who walk with Jesus day by day, our lives should be different, for we are not the same as we were before; we now walk another way.

The story told in Matthew 2:1-12 makes this same point. Wise men who saw God's star in the east came to Jerusalem to inquire of Herod the king, "Where is He Who is born King of the Jews?" The priests directed them to Bethlehem, based on a prophecy from Micah. When the wise men saw Jesus, they bowed to worship the King of the Jews, Who, in fact, was King of all kings, Lord of all lords, and Creator of everything. Herod had asked them to come back and let him know where the Baby was, but he had a wicked scheme to try and kill Jesus.

Matthew 2:12 – And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. (KJV)

Anyone who has spent time with Jesus knows how quickly our lives can be changed, for He touches our hearts, and we know that we will never be the same. Travelling back to their country far away, I imagine that the wise men were different that day. They had spent time with Jesus and were returning back home — praise God! — "another way"!

Someone coined the phrase, "Wise men still seek Him". If you have not yet found Him, be encouraged to continue seeking Him because of how thankful others of us are that not only did we seek Him, but we found Him, and were changed, and returned another way.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, we want to thank You for our salvation. Our hearts are also thankful because it is Your desire, Lord God, to see us conformed to Your image. We come to You for forgiveness of sin, and desire to return yet "another way". We praise You, Lord God, Jehovah. Amen.
