I was typing a message of consolation to a fellow believer on my cell phone and was just about finished, when my two-year-old great-grandson came running in, jumped on my lap, and proceeded to give me a big hug and kiss.

What happened next, I can't even explain. The pressure from his jump, bumped my phone. It caused the words "hahaha" to be added to my message, and then, to my alarm, the message was sent.

I gave my great-grandson a hug, three kisses, gently took him off my lap, and prayed that the recipient of my e-mail message would somehow understand as I apologized for what had just happened.

The little fellow meant no harm. It never occurred to him that he wouldn't be welcomed into my arms or that I wouldn't accept one of his precious hugs or kisses.

His boldness made me think of this passage:

Hebrews 10:19-20 – Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh. (KJV)

The veil of the temple that separated sinful mankind from our holy God was rent from top to bottom when Jesus died on Calvary's cross. We now have been given access to the Holy of Holies, the very throne of God, made possible by the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

Praise God, we are welcome to come boldly any time and all the time — no appointment necessary!

If we've ever hesitated to come to God thinking that He might be angry, upset with us, or too busy, or that our prayers were too insignificant, when we read this passage, we see otherwise. For when we come boldly to the throne of God, we do not come in our own merit; we come through the precious blood and sacrifice of His dear Son Jesus.

I like to think that the following poem shows how happy God is when, through the precious blood of Jesus, we boldly enter into the Holy of Holies.

The Holy of Holies

For you I have waited
I'm so glad that you came
You have your credentials
My blood and My name

Come, let's sit here together
In our heavenly place
I am here longing to hold you
Feel the warmth of your face

I created this glory
With you on my mind
All the things you desire
In My presence you'll find

But head-knowledge relations
Just will not do
For I want you to know Me
And how much I love you

The veil of the temple
When it rent in two
Was a picture of my flesh
Of what I came to do

I came to tear down walls
Thoughts that aren't true
Like the Holy of Holies
Is just for a few

The Holy of Holies
Is not just for some
The access is wide open
Whosoever may come

I want you to know that
I love when you're near
And you don't have to leave
You're supposed to dwell here

God is never too busy, nor are our prayers and concerns too trivial for Him.

Hebrews 4:16 – Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (KJV)

Prayer: Father God, thank You that through the blood of Jesus, we have access to come boldly into the Holy of Holies. What an awesome privilege that is! Thank You so much! Amen.
