Malachi 3:10b – I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in! (NLT)

When we do the Lord's service from the heart, no matter how great or small a deed, it all counts. In the Old Testament, under the law, the Israelites had to tithe in a certain way and amount to receive God's blessings. Today, when we realize the price of the love sacrifice that Christ paid for our sins, we are freely motivated by our love to Him to be joyful givers.

The more that we give in love, the more blessings of any shape and size that we receive. Always, the blessings are what we need. Recently, when I felt prompted to write again, I prayed for God to prepare my heart, to let ideas rain into my thinking, and to let that writing be a blessing to others. A word here, a phrase there, experiences sprinkle down continuously. I have seen that the sphere of God's blessing is unlimited. Not only the writers and the readers, but also the others that we share the gifts with can have their rain barrels full and running over with blessings. The impact is endless circles of influence.

We realize that it is the Holy Spirit that transmits these ideas to each devotional writer. Each kernel of our experience that becomes the core of a devotional showers down to us from above. He has blessed us with these seeds to minister to others in this way, and it brings everyone great joy. This process blesses us on many levels: as the receivers of ideas, as we pray to develop these ideas as writers, as readers read, and as people let us know that they read what is published. This entire process is the blessing of fellowship with each other and with our Lord and Saviour, prompted by the Holy Spirit, whose presence permeates our being.

Everyone in this interactive sphere is blessed by God to bless others, and back again. Let's pray that our hearts and minds will receive these gifts of richness, diversity, and God-honouring content to enrich our souls, in our writing, reading, commenting, and sharing to enrich others.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of devotionals that are prompted by the Holy Spirit. We are grateful that Your floodgates of heaven are overflowing as we move deeper into Your service and love. Amen.
