Humour is an important, positive aspect of our life. We are created in God's image. Hence, it is logical that God must have a great sense of humour!

When we humans make a great discovery, I can imagine God smiling and thinking, "Well, they finally figured that out!"

Lately, it seems that there is an increasing number of articles about the great discoveries that astronomers are making about other planets. The reporters make it seem as if this is something new, and yet, in numerous passages, the Bible tells us that God knew about them long ago.

Psalm 90:2 – Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. (KJV)

Psalm 8:3-4a – When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him? (KJV)

Colossians 1:16 – For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. (KJV)

The Bible has been under threat for hundreds of years, and yet it remains the most widely-read piece of literature on the earth.

Perhaps God's greatest chuckle might come when an atheist or agnostic claims not to believe in God. Yet that person makes that claim in 2019, a date that is numbered based on the birth of our Saviour Jesus!

We should thank God for the brains of brilliant people when they discover some great truth that helps us. But when it is presented as fact that mankind has established something totally new, I'm sure that God must laugh and say, "They are finally catching up!"

Prayer: Dear Father, help us to continue to admire Your wonderful handiwork and to realize that all that we have comes from You. Most of all, lead us to share Your love in a positive way. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
