It's been just over a year since a very dear friend of ours passed away suddenly from cancer. Eight months ago, our daughter-in-law's father passed away within three weeks of finding out that he was ill. And now, another dear friend of ours has passed away in a very short period of time.

Life is short!

Be grateful for every second of every day that you get to spend with the people you love. Life is so very precious! And the older we get, the faster time goes. Our time on earth is short. Don't waste another minute of your life.

Job 9:25 – My time is short — what's left of my life races off too fast for me to even glimpse the good. (MSG)

Life is a gift from God.

Genesis 2:7 – The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. (NIV)

When we invite Jesus into our lives, we have a new life — a life that carries on into eternity where we will live forever with God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Philippians 3:10-11 – I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. (NIV)

We are called to live life to the full.

John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (NIV)

Live life to the full! Love others as Jesus loves you. Forgive others as Jesus forgives you. Pray. Read the Bible. Be the best that you can be. Be the person God created you to be.

Seek God's forgiveness, and live with no regrets. Plan to live forever, but live each day as if it were the last day of your life. Be grateful for every day that you are given. Let go of what you can't change. Do everything to the glory of God.

Life is full of possibilities. Make your life count for eternity. It's a wonderful life when you're living it for God.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of life. Help us to live each day the way that You want us to live. We know that our time on earth is short. May we seek Your kingdom first. Help us to love others as You love, to forgive others as You forgive, and to be the people that You created us to be, so that we can make a difference in the time that we are given on this earth. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
