Lately, I've been googling everything. If I need a recipe, I can google it. If I want to know how many calories or carbs are in a certain food, I can google it. If I want to find out where a restaurant is located in a city when I'm travelling, I can google it. If I want to find the words for a song, I can google it.

It seems as if there's nothing that I can't google and get an answer to. Google helps me find exactly what I'm looking for.

According to Wikipedia, Google has become the most widely used web-based search engine.

Isn't it too bad that many people will never use the Bible, God's Word for His people, to look for answers to their questions about life.

In the Bible we can find:

• Comfort in times of sorrow
• Help and guidance to make important decisions
• Hope and encouragement in times of trouble
• Knowledge of good and evil
• Stories about ordinary people just like us who have done extraordinary things
• God's plan of salvation through His Son Jesus

God reveals Himself to us through the Bible. When we read God's Word daily, we learn more and more about Who God is: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It's one thing to know about God, but another to know God.

When we realize that we are sinners who need God, and we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, then we become children of God the Father, we begin a personal relationship with Jesus the Son, and God the Holy Spirit begins to work in our hearts and our lives.

If we want to know God and discover His will for our lives, then we need to read the Bible regularly. God's Word is dependable and true, so we know that the answers that we find in it are true.

Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path. (GNT)

The Bible is a unique book among those ever written because it was penned by some forty individuals who were inspired by the Holy Spirit over thousands of years.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living, so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed. (GNT)

Most people have a Bible in their home, but how many take time out of their day to read it? Do you?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for giving us Your Word, the Bible, to be our guide through life. Help us to remember that we can always depend on the Bible to guide us and teach us so that we can become more and more faithful in following You. Help us to take time every day to read Your Word and to listen for Your voice. We want to know You better day by day. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
