It has been quite some time since I sat down and started writing again. I was leafing through my journal and noticed similarities in my thought pattern and entries:

March 4, 2015 – It has been a long time since I made myself to take time and write. There are always other things that rob me of my time for me to just sit down, spend time in prayer, and reflect. Spending quality time with my Creator through reading my Bible and then listening for God's voice is so important, but other stuff kept me from doing this. I was wondering why my inspiration to write wasn't there. I was searching and not finding anything to write about and I gave up. I prayed asking God why I wasn't "seeing" or "hearing". But there was nothing but silence. Nudges of quality time in reading and reflecting on God's Word kept haunting me, but my time was filled with other things, and so time flew by.

April 25, 2015 – It has been a very long time since I spent time writing, praying and just being silent and trying to hear God's still small voice.

There has been a lot going on in my life since those entries. I was busy looking after an ailing mother, and a husband who had had a stroke almost six years ago and has just recently been diagnosed with the onset of Alzheimers. I found myself too busy to relax and have some "me and God" time.

Is there something in your life right now that is preventing you from spending time with your Creator? Do you find it hard to cope right now? God is faithful and waits patiently for His children to return to Him and ask for help once again.

God invites us to come to Him with our troubles, our questions, our fears, our doubts, and our guilt. He will forgive our tardiness and will receive us again with open arms.

Psalm 68:19 – Praise be to the Lord, to God our Saviour, who daily bears our burdens. (NIV)

Prayer: Lord, we come to You and ask for Your forgiveness again. Help us to lean on You and share our burdens with the One Who offers to carry them. Fill us again with hope and love. Give us the assurance that You are in control and that everything will work out as it should. Amen.
