Revelation 1:8 – "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." (NIV)

Computers and I get along to a point. The trouble begins, however, when I don't know how or where to find something within a specific program. As most of my readers probably know, computers have lots of hidden features, but unless I know where to look for these veiled components, I can waste a lot of time, and a mountain of frustrations can ensue. Taking time to attend a tutorial or having a friend who is experienced with the program, one who is willing to sit down and work with me, has, however, changed many sessions of technical annoyance and exasperation into "Aha!" moments of enlightenment and joy.

God our heavenly Father also has many hidden components within His being.

Job 9:10 – He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted. (NIV)

Psalm 145:3 – Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. (NIV)

Ecclesiastes 3:11 – He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. (NIV)

Isaiah 40:28 – Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. (NIV)

Yes, indeed, God is fathomless, veiled in mystery and wisdom. Yet amidst His almightiness, He allows those who ask and seek and knock to find, for He has given us His wonderful Holy Spirit as a friend and mentor, a tutor to lead us into all truth and a guide to reveal hidden components of His being that turn many of life's frustrations and struggles into "Aha!" moments of enlightenment and joy, as we discover more about Him, ourselves, our neighbours, and His purpose for our world.

Prayer: Father God, You Who are the Alpha and the Omega, Who is, and Who was, and Who is to come, the Almighty, grant us hearts and minds and wills to ask and seek and knock in the right places, that we might find whatever and all You have for us to know and to do this day. In Christ's marvellous name, we pray. Amen.
