I have a group of friends — seven of us — who met in Grade 9 and have remained friends since then. We started getting together at Christmastime every year, and went to each other's weddings. (Some of us were in each others' wedding parties.) Then we got together with our spouses. For several years, it was the girls and their children, and then back to husbands and wives. As the years have progressed, we have all come to realize what a special friendship this is and how blessed we all are! When we had the reunion at our home a couple of years ago, we were sharing pictures of our grandchildren!

Other friendships that we have formed over the years are with those in our Christian family. Even though many have moved on to other places, we may still manage to get together once in a while, and when we see each other again, it's interesting how it seems like only yesterday that we were last together.

I think this is what it will be like when we all get to heaven. It will be such a grand reunion of old friends and family members. We will see each other again, and it will seem like only yesterday that we were together.

The Bible tells us that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us. It will be a place beyond our wildest dreams and more beautiful than we can imagine.

John 14:1-3 – Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (NKJV)

God wants each and every one of us to live with Him forever in heaven. All we have to do is believe that Jesus died for our sins and accept Him as our Lord and Saviour. He has paid the price for our salvation. He has made it possible for us to come to the Father, to have forgiveness for our sins, and to have eternal life. It's all free. It's ours for the asking. But we can't do it on our own.

The Bible tells us that Jesus is the only way to come to the Father.

John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (NKJV)

If you haven't already asked Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour, will you do it now? Will you confess your sins, invite Him into your heart, and receive the free gift of eternal life?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we are thankful for the many blessings You have given us, and especially for Your Son Jesus, who came to earth and died on the cross for our sins so that we can be forgiven and have eternal life. We thank You for our families and our friends and the love that we share for each other. We thank You, too, that we can belong to Your family and live with You forever. May we hear Your voice calling each of us to believe. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
