2 Corinthians 3:18 – And all of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more. (NLT)

We recently met friends for coffee, and we got talking about Skype, which is a computer programme that allows people to talk with their family and friends all over the world. It is much like a telephone conversation, but people can also see the person on the other end, if their computer has a camera. This friend shared how he was recently talking to a friend in Ukraine. As he was chatting, he realized that the camera lens on his computer had a clear plastic protective covering on it, so he removed it. As he did so, his friend on the other end of the viewing conversation replied, "Wow! I can see you much more clearly now." These two people had been using this technology for over a year and had not realized that this covering on the lens was between them. As he shared this story with us, it got me thinking about perspective.

We see the world and the events around us in a variety of ways. The media, such as television, newspapers, and the Internet, are just a few of the ways in which we can see the world. At the end of the day, though, it is through our own perspective that we best view the world. However, I have realized recently that my perspective is not always as right or as clear as I thought it was. At times, we need to slow down and listen to another person's viewpoint and hear their perspective before we make decisions.

Luke 18:27 – He replied, "What is impossible from a human perspective is possible with God." (NLT)

Prayer: Dear Lord, how we long to see from Your perspective and not from our own! Help us to remove the veil of doubt and despair from our lives. Continue to wash us anew every day as we come to You in humility. Thank You, Lord, that You lived and died, and now live in us, giving us hope and a new perspective on life. Amen.
