It Changed My Life Forever

2 Corinthians 11:3 – But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (KJV)

It is totally understandable that not everyone receives, understands, or accepts a message in exactly the same way. Some of us learn differently or respond differently to what we are taught or the way we are taught, or to what we read or what we hear.

And so, different ways of getting a message through to someone need to be developed. Braille for instance, was developed for those who cannot see, and Sign Language, for those who cannot hear and/or speak. Translations need to be given for those who speak or read a language other than the one in which something was originally written or spoken.

The Bible has been translated into many, many languages, and there is a myriad of interpretations written, to bring the word of God to different people, and at various levels of understanding and comprehension. But the outcome expected, the crux of the message, is always the same.

Often a book is recommended to me with millions of copies published and accolades written within the book's covers, as well as given verbally by the recommender that It changed my life forever. Indeed, I have read books that have impacted me deeply, but my grounding book, my base, my foundation, is the Bible. Many books may expand and increase my understanding of or insight into the Word, but everything still comes down to the basic simplicity that is in Christ.

Prayer: Lord, may we not leave You nor exchange You for something else in our constant search for betterment, for truth, for further enrichment in our life. In Your name, we pray. Amen.
