Feeling happy and contented most of the time, I continually thank the Lord and tell Him that more of the same would be just fine, because it is truly a fine last of life He has given to me. However, He keeps surprising me with refreshing newness of life and strength. As much as I feel that more of the same would be wonderful enough, I do want to remain surrendered to whatever God's will is, so I don't say, "No, thanks." I'm always happy to move onward and upward with Him.

My conclusion is that it is such an inherent part of God's wonderful and perfect giving nature to want to refresh and renew His people — indeed, all His creation. Only Jesus Christ stays "the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever". (Hebrews 13:8 KJV) I do, however, seek more of Jesus in my days; therefore, my meditations lead me to what the Lord Christ says of Himself, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life." (John 14:6a AMP)

Isaiah 40:31 – But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (KJV)

Being human, we do fail at "waiting" sometimes. But in general, in any situation, before moving out in our own strength and will, if we ask of Him, we do need to "wait upon the Lord" courteously until we hear clearly from our ever-loving, giving Lord, who does not withhold anything we need, including His direction, guidance, and wherewithal.

The method is straightforward. For myself, having prayed, and placed items and people on God's altar, and "waited", I experience His wonderful, refreshing, renewing strength and life, when I hear from the Lord. Often, this hearing comes through His Word as I read it daily; it also comes through other devotional readings or books, or through His soft, low voice quickened in my spirit. Sometimes this is in words; sometimes in a Scripture reference; or, often, in a praise or worship song of truth. This hearing from Him may come in different ways for each of us, but His way, truth, and life will come to us — if we just "wait".

Just as I'm going about my usual routine throughout a typical day, people do need to stand back when I receive that refreshing and renewing revelation. It's a good job I live out in the country, because my shouts of joy and gratitude become exceedingly, boisterously animated, child-like, and loud! I feel totally refreshed and renewed as I hear and witness His glorious kingdom come, His divine will being done! Praise His holy name!

Prayer: Thank You, precious Lord, that all we need to do is "wait" upon You to receive this wonderful, refreshing renewing of life, strength, and wherewithal to live our God-given lives fruitfully in You and in Your way, truth, life, and will: our lovable, wonderful, holy God. Amen and Amen!
