Job 19:25,27b – For I know that my Redeemer and Vindicator lives, and at last [the Last One] will stand upon the earth. … And my eyes shall behold Him, and not as a stranger! (AMP)

As we begin this day, we do so without any knowledge where it is going to lead us or what we are going to encounter. We do, of course, have a structured plan, but will this plan come to fruition? My husband and I moved to a tiny town in northern Alberta, Canada, where we came to know and appreciate a very fine Christian man. Whenever we met him, we would always ask the question, "What do you know for sure?" We knew his answer, and he never failed us: "I know that my Redeemer liveth."

Together, you and I can claim that the passing years have been a mixture of good and bad experiences. Somehow, as we look more closely at what had first appeared to be sad, serious, and difficult situations, the passing years have given these experiences a more positive and meaningful interpretation. In fact, the sad experiences have proved to be years of great blessing, and if we were questioned, perhaps we might even describe them as our most productive years.

So, as we enter this day, in His care, in His love, let us enter it with joy. Let us remember those whose testimony was "I know that my Redeemer liveth." Job's testimony goes even further: "And my eyes shall behold Him, and not as a stranger!" Job knew our Redeemer in life, and he was willing to say that he will know Him in eternity: an unbroken relationship.

Prayer: Father, we come into Your presence not as strangers, but as Your people whom You know and love. We come into Your presence with joy. Help us to be sensitive to every situation where we may share this joy with others. Thank You, Father. We ask this petition in the authority of Your Son and our Saviour, Christ Jesus. Amen.
