Isaiah 55:10 – The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. (NLT)

Where we live, there are about six months in which we can and will have snow. I am one of those people who count down each day from about the end of October and say, "Well, we are one day closer to spring." This one year, though, the first snow came after a day of rain.

I was grumbling about having to drive the slippery roads. As I was scraping off the car, my focus began to switch to the trees. I could hear a tinkling and cracking sound, as the wind gently moved through the trees. It was a musical sound, like a chime, as the ice began to crack on the branches, as the wind moved past. The sky was a beautiful blue colour, with not a cloud to be seen. As I drove, I began to notice the trees glistening and sparkling against the sun.

While reading a few days later, I came across the following Scripture:

John 3:8 – The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. (NIV)

This experience has challenged me in how I go about my day. I need to reflect that each day is truly a gift from the Creator.

Isaiah 40:28 – Have you never heard or understood? Don't you know that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth? He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. (NLT)

Prayer: Dear Lord, we praise and thank You for all the blessings that You pour out on us. Help us to slow down and see Your glory in all situations and seasons. Give us a boldness to go out in each season proclaiming Your glory and majesty. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
