John 7:38 – He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. (NKJV)

Recently, we spent a weekend camping. After sharing our campsite with a bear, we decided to sit by the lake and watch the boys canoeing. Another family had gathered for a picnic, and as the children played, the adults prepared the lunch. When lunch was ready to be served, the adults called the children and took them to the water's edge to wash their hands. We were very surprised, as only about forty feet away was a tap that contained water — fresh, clean, running water. The adults were unaware of this resource so close at hand, and so there they were, washing their hands in the water of the lake.

How often we get our hands dirty in the sins of this world. We are so blessed to know that we can be cleansed by our Redeemer, but what about the lost of this world who do not know where the source for cleansing is?

The Scriptures talk about living water in the following way:

John 4:9-10 – Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water." (NKJV)

Prayer: Dear Jesus, help us to bring people to You for your cleansing and redemption. We are sorry for the times when we have become covered in the dust and dirt of this world. We are thankful for Your living water in our lives, and again we pause to thank You for all that You did on the cross for us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
