Revelation 1:4a – To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come. (NIV)

The question went something like this: "Which historic character would you most like to invite to dinner?" Most of our choices were easily recognizable. My personal favourite was Winston Churchill. I'd ask him about his World War II strategies over a roast beef dinner. He would tell me how it felt to be tossed aside in the election that followed his huge triumph.

There was a great outcry of "Not fair!" when Auntie announced her favourite as Lord Iswastocome! We thought there was no such character. "No, you are wrong," she replied. "This is a real person, and thankfully everyone in our family knows this person well." Then she quoted today's Scripture verse.

Excellent choice, Auntie! Who wouldn't like to ask Jesus questions over dinner? He could explain some of His world peace strategies, and we could ask Him what it felt like to hang on the cross, separated from God, on our behalf.

Amazingly, we can do just that, if we have a personal relationship with Him.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)

Prayer: Thank You, God, that all we have to do is ask, and You will give us that personal relationship with Lord Iswastocome. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
