Job 36:26 – How great is God — beyond our understanding! (NIV)

Learning to trust God for the little things in our lives can help us to learn to trust God in the bigger things in our lives. Hearing God is just one part of how we can trust God.

On my travels, I buy decorated towels to have on hand to use for hostess gifts. I felt led to send a few of these towels to a friend who would soon be celebrating a birthday, so I sent her a few towels with her card. When her day arrived, I telephoned her to wish her a happy birthday. She told me that she had been away, and when she arrived home, there was a package waiting for her. She was quite surprised when she opened it to see tea towels. Then she shared that just before she went away, she had done some laundry, and when she went back to retrieve her laundry, someone had taken all of her tea towels. That is why she was so surprised to open the gift package and to find new tea towels. She knew that I was not aware of the loss of her towels.

This provided me with an opportunity to witness and to share Jesus with her, inviting her to know Jesus as her personal Saviour. After I shared with her and she went on with her day, it was my prayer that the Lord would bring someone else to cross her path who would also share the love of Jesus.

Psalm 105:3 – Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord. (NKJV)

What an encouragement this was to me in my walk with the Lord — to have been a witness and a blessing in this event. I went with a sense in my heart of not understanding why at the time, but because I was a willing vessel, the Lord was able to use me in this situation.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for the opportunities to be vessels for Your message to flow through. Please help us to keep hearts and ears open to Your calling in our lives. Amen.
