Isaiah 51:11 – Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion. (KJV)

Most little children love to be held and hugged. As a mother and grandmother, I have noticed over the years, though, that there comes a time (usually during the teen years) that we don't want to be hugged any more. As adults, it is good to respect this choice that others make. We will be waiting lovingly for them to come back and want a hug. We want to hug them even though they don't want our hugs right now. When others are struggling, we especially want to hug them to let them know we care.

Most of us have seasons in our lives when we don't want to be hugged by others or by God. It could be due to being independent or rebellious or bitter or a number of other reasons. Whatever the reason, God is waiting patiently for us to run to Him for a hug, whether we are struggling or not. How He longs to hug us to let us know He cares. He bought us and loves us more than we can fathom.

Isaiah 44:22b – Return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. (KJV)

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You that You wait patiently for us to come to You. Oh, how we need to know that You care every hour. Amen.
