Philippians 4:6-7 – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (NKJV)

"Don't be anxious and don't worry." This was God's Word delivered by my daughter. In conversation with her about the pending sale of our house and the purchase of one in another province, I clearly conveyed how concerned I was. The timelines were very tight on both deals. She said, "Stop worrying, Mom."

I replied, "Oh, I'm not worrying — just trying to get things sorted out."

Then my daughter said, "Mom, you need to read Philippians 4:6," whereupon she recited it. On hearing this, I realized that I was doing exactly what the text was saying not to do — worrying and being anxious.

I suspect many others have been in similar situations when buying a home. After the above conversation, I came to realize there is only so much we can do to bring about desired results, and when that is done, we must leave it all in God's hands. Much of my anxiety has lifted and I have posted these verses on my refrigerator. Peace about this situation will come, I know.

Matthew 6:34 – Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (NKJV)

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for taking the load of our worries and for looking after all of our tomorrows. Help us to realize that when we put complete trust in You and come to You in prayer, You do bring about that peace which surpasses all understanding. Thank You, too, Lord for believing daughters. In Jesus' name. Amen.
