I have wonderful little grandchildren. Some are more snuggly than others. Right now, the two-year-old comes crawling into my arms and snuggles up to me, often lifting her little head and saying, "I love you, Grandma!" Her little arms around my neck are precious. I love it when she's sitting on my lap, her head on my shoulder, saying she loves me. When she is hurting and crying, she comes running to me and sobs on my shoulder, telling me all about her troubles! I'm so glad to be there to comfort her, gently telling her it's going to be okay and that I love her. I tell her she is precious and that she is beautiful.

Jesus died on the cross so that we can have a relationship with Him. Even though we have accepted Him as Lord and Saviour, there are many times that we turn our backs on Him and run in the opposite direction when we're hurting and crying. We wrongly think we can manage on our own and that the hurt will go away on its own. But it won't! Eventually, we realize we need to run to our heavenly Father, curl up in His lap and tell Him all about it. He soothes us and tells us He loves us and accepts us, just like we are. He tells us He will heal the pain because He is the Great Physician. He tells us we are beautiful and precious!

Let's remember that we can't handle life's problems on our own. Let's learn to run to Jesus with our hurts and pains and struggles. The quicker we run to Him, the easier it will be for us. Jesus is always ready and willing to listen to us and to hold us close to His breast.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You that You died so we could have a relationship with You. You love us with an everlasting love. It must grieve Your heart when we try to manage life on our own, but You don't force us to come to You. Help us to learn to come to You quickly. You are always ready and willing to comfort and guide us. Thank You. Amen.
