1 Corinthians 10:13 – No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. (NIV)

Having had a difficulty that I didn't know how to deal with, I finally came to discuss it with clergy. I was told that I wasn't the only one having the same problem, meaning that others suffer from the same thing. That helped a little, but it did nothing to heal the wounds at the time.

As I reflect on the situation today, I realize that something really did change when I shared my predicament. It's true that we all have problems, but when we hold things in, they never go away. They only fester, unless we at least talk to someone about them. That's when the comfort can come.

We know that, in God's plan and in His timing, things will eventually work out. Perhaps these problems will never be solved to our liking, but in turning our problems over to God, they are no longer ours.

When it comes time and we release it all to God, I have found it best to talk to a Christian friend, to stop holding it in, to get things out into the open, to share with one another, and to pray for one another.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, in times of need, when we tend to hold things in, help us to share our problems one with another and with You. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
