Romans 1:20 – For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. (NASB)

We met in the subdivision at six a.m., both of us scurrying along, doing our obligatory twenty minutes.

"Nice day," I called out. "I feel sorry for the folks who sleep through this lovely peace and quiet."

She replied, "That's the reason I walk so early. It's for the peace and quiet."

We left one another quickly, for our very nearness robbed us of its presence.

We sense its availability and we yearn to own it. We search everywhere and blame others because they must have stolen it from us. Even in the most perfect circumstances, it lies just out of our reach. Finally we yield ourselves to the living God and ask Jesus into our life. Then, and only then, will we begin to experience that peace, the peace that passes all understanding.

Philippians 4:6-7 – Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. (MSG)

Before we know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle us down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the centre of our life.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, we believe that You are the Son of God, and that You died on the cross to save us from our sins. You rose from the dead, and You are alive right now. Lord, we choose to accept Your priceless gift, the peace that passes all understanding. Amen.
