It was finally here! I had begun the first day of my week's holidays, leaving behind a hurried lifestyle.

I was sitting on the beach in a very comfortable beach chair, watching the waves roll towards the shore. Hearing the faint hum of a motor high above, I looked up and saw an airplane, as if swimming in a vast ocean of dark blue.

A soft, warm wind began to blow gently through my hair, a welcome relief from the sun's warm rays. A squirrel made its clicking noise, and tree frogs joined in the chorus. A beetle scurried across sand dunes towards the tall crab grass growing in the sand, and a daddy-long-legs spider was making its way up a blade of grass. A monarch butterfly was flying to and fro along the beach. A tiny spider ran across my writing paper, and a deer fly was testing my patience. Amid all the action in this tiny world, a crow called its message to another, and a lonely seagull gently glided and danced in the serenity of the deep blue sky.

Peacefulness surrounded me, and I knew that God was here with me.

While we can't always get away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we can still experience the peace of God wherever we are. Jesus promised to give us peace. Only with Jesus in our hearts we will discover true peace.

Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, we rejoice that we can experience your peace in our lives daily. We are thankful that you come to us, bringing your peace in the midst of our busy-ness. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
