1 John 4:16-17 – And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. (NIV)

When I finished reading the Daily devotional, I put the icon for the computer programme down on the tool bar and brought up another, so that I might give some thought to writing. I didn't lose the music that was playing, though. The selection was Trust and Obey. This is a tune I love, but it wasn't long until the repetition of the tune started to get to me, and to disrupt my thinking. So I reached over for the volume control and tuned it out.

"Repetition": doing things over and over again. There is a certain annoyance and distraction about it — whether it be music or something else we do over and over again.

It causes me think of how God must see us when we do the same wrong deeds, over and over again. It's a wonder He doesn't tune us out.

I am sure He must get annoyed, but He has never completely tuned us out. We should give some thought to the question, "Why doesn't He tune us out?"

"God is love" and He loves us although we are all sinners. Let us give thanks to God for His patience in putting up with us when we continue in our same old habits, over and over again. May we learn to completely give up the old habits and give Him no cause to ever tune us out.

1 John 4:8-9 – He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. (KJV)

Prayer: God, help us to know You better, so that we will come to a realization of our sins and stop the repetition of doing the same thing over and over again. Amen.
