One day I read the Daily devotional, and when I finished, I looked at what it said just below it:

Pray about contributing a devotional.

This triggered something inside me. It led me to write about something that had happened to me the week before. I submitted it to the editor. He came back to me with some suggestions, and after I had re-written it, much to my surprise, the devotional was accepted to be posted in the Daily.

I hadn't composed anything except letters since writing a story in high school, a long time ago. Composition was my favourite subject in school, but when I left school, I left my story writing behind. The years passed, as they do. Life was hard; it was good; it was sad; it was filled with joy; it was filled with good times and some not so good. But as I look back, my life was full, and the more mature I get, the more meaningful it becomes. The Lord has led me in the path He wanted me to take. Sometimes I think I came kicking and screaming, but I came.

Now that I have had a taste of something I left behind, I have been encouraged by those who read the Daily. God has led you to the Daily devotional, not for me to receive a blessing, but to be a blessing to you.

It is in the way we walk with Christ, that we are known. Just as I have found a gift I had left behind, so for each of us there may be something we have left behind, a gift we could use to glorify God and at the same time use to be a blessing to others. Let's examine ourselves and seek out any of our own personal gifts, that we may have set aside years ago. We may be guided to something we have left behind.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, guide us to seek out the blessings that are ours to share. May we be led by Holy Spirit to glorify You, O Lord our God, and in so doing, be a blessing to others. Amen.
