2 Peter 2:6,7 – And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

Those of us who knit, even a little bit, are no doubt familiar with the knitted dish/face cloths. They make up quickly, take about three quarters of a ball of crafter's cotton, require very little concentration and are an excellent additional usage of time while watching TV or sitting with someone who is ill and/or elderly.

Some say the clicking of the needles is very soothing. My personal preference is to not have a knot in something so small as a cloth, so the remaining quarter of a ball goes towards an afghan.

During the time my dad was ill, I must have made hundreds of those cloths. They made great little spontaneous gifts for the nurses, caregivers, friends and family and were always a great bazaar item. I also made three afghans, one for each of our daughters.

Again, I have been given the honour of "sitting with someone". My gifts of knowledge, patience and brotherly kindness can be implemented in the cloths I make while helping someone through their last journey.

God gives each and every one of us gifts, or talents, no matter how small, and he also gives us the ways in which to use our talents in unison.

Prayer: Our Father in Heaven, we thank you for our gifts and talents, and most of all, we thank you for giving us the opportunities to use those talents, for, by using them, the gift is given back to you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
