Easter

Matthew 28:10 – Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me." (NIV)

Mark 16:20 – Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it. (NIV)

Acts 4:20 – [Peter and John replied to the Sanhedrin], "We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard." (NIV)

Just a few verses, stating very simply the foundation of our Christian hope. The risen Christ makes himself known to his disciples. They were never the same again. They couldn't stop talking about it. We have a woman in our congregation who has come to us after a series of remarkable deliverances. She knows that God has been with her and kept her through it all. She can't stop thanking God and telling everyone how good he is. Sometimes we wish she would just keep quiet. I think her exuberance must be something like that of the disciples. They have known the living Christ, and they can't keep quiet about it.

Prayer: Dear God, make yourself known to us in such a way that we will never be the same again, and we will not be able to keep quiet about it. Amen.
