Romans 9:21-22 – But who are you, O man to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, "Why did you make me like this?" Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

These are hard words for some of us who are used to questioning the ways of God in our lives. Why do some get used mightily in God's service, and other just sit on the shelf? Surely we are worthy of greater recognition!

The fact is that resisting God's will for us is probably the biggest reason that we haven't been more useful in His kingdom. What God is looking for in us is humility, repentance, and trust in His wisdom to choose the very best place for us.

The opposite side of this coin is that no matter how lowly and useless we may feel we are in God's kingdom, there is not one of us that God cannot find a place for in His grand economy of things. You are useful to God. He's making something of you! Not one of us is useless.

Prayer: Lord, I repent of that feeling that I was too unworthy to be useful in Your kingdom. Make of me what You will, that I may still be a vessel of honour. Amen.
