Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

"Hope is like a road in the country; there never was a road, but when many people walk the same path, a road comes into existence." (ancient Chinese Proverb)

An unknown poet once wrote:

A little child-
A shining star-
A stable rude,
The door ajar.
Yet in that place
So crude, forlorn,
The hope of all
The world is born.

Many people use to laugh when I dreamed of a world that was no longer divided between communism and capitalism, between haves and have-nots, between warring factions and divided loyalties. "It'll never happen." Yes, that is our response to so many of the difficulties that confound the human race.

What hope teaches us is that all things are possible, all things, by the grace of God, can be changed and transformed and transfigured.

Prayer: God of hope and joy: Let hope and expectation live within us today as we seek to make a path where none seems to exist. May your word be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Amen.
